Certified system integrator for KUKA & Universal Robots
Planning robot systems and delivering them turnkey – robot system integrator from Augsburg
MRK-Systeme GmbH from Augsburg has been planning and building robot systems since 2004 – turnkey with CE marking or as support in individual project phases. The focus is on human-robot collaboration and applications with sensor technology such as machine vision and force control. MRK-Systeme has been a KUKA Certified System Integrator since 2004 and a Universal Robots Certified System Integrator since 2023.
Rising costs and a shortage of skilled workers put pressure on many manufacturers. Industrial robots and collaborative robots (cobots) take over tasks such as machine tending, gluing or grinding, as well as many handling tasks in production and logistics. This lowers production costs and makes processes more stable.

Robotic system integration from a single source
From the first feasibility check to the accepted robot cell, everything comes from a single source: concept and simulation, electrical and mechanical design (EPLAN, Autodesk Inventor), robot and PLC programming, installation and commissioning, and the CE conformity process including risk assessment and acceptance tests according to DIN EN ISO 10218.
You decide whether MRK-Systeme delivers the system turnkey or supports your team in individual phases – including on existing systems from other manufacturers. Since 2004, this has resulted in more than 600 customer projects, including in the automotive industry, medical technology, nuclear technology and logistics, in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and elsewhere in Europe.

Human-Robot Collaboration
Difficult handling tasks do not always require a special-purpose machine or a dedicated manipulator. Such special solutions require extensive engineering, are expensive and hard to maintain. An alternative is a standard industrial robot guided by hand by an operator: it lifts and positions heavy parts while still being able to use its automatic functions.
This is made possible by certified safety technology, which allows even large robots with payloads of several hundred kilograms to be guided by hand. For this purpose, MRK-Systeme has developed its own product, SafeGuiding, which works with all KUKA controllers and robots of every payload class. Where they are a better fit, MRK-Systeme uses collaborative robots (cobots) – for example in Audi’s assembly in Ingolstadt, where a cobot with a 3D camera works hand in hand with employees.
A second area of application is teaching motion paths by guiding the robot manually, for example using a force-torque sensor – such as when recording paths for robot-assisted dry ice blasting.
This experience is already in the name: MRK stands for the German term for human-robot cooperation systems (Mensch-Roboter-Kooperationssysteme).

Machine Vision in Robotics
A strong trend in robotics is the use of sensors, such as camera systems and force-torque sensors, to flexibly automate new processes. MRK-Systeme works with various machine vision manufacturers, particularly in the field of 3D recognition. These systems typically use stereo camera systems and machine vision algorithms based on AI technology.
The use of modern machine vision systems enables applications in part recognition, quality assurance, and bin picking that were not feasible just a few years ago.
To implement such applications, the vision task is first analyzed. MRK-Systeme uses its own camera systems and, where necessary, involves machine vision manufacturers. After assessing feasibility, the implementation steps are planned together with the end customer.
Another interesting option is the use of force-torque sensors to monitor process forces in sensitive assembly and joining operations.
